5 Tips on Using Public Computers
Sometimes you may use public computers (like in cyber cafes) when you’re out of home or office. It’s not all the times safe to use these public computers. You should take some safety measures while using these computers.
- Never use your Bank account login on public computers. There might have Spywares, Viruses, Adwares etc to steal your account logins and passwords and sends over to somebody on Internet that causes loosing money in your bank account online.
- When you work any financial or Income tax related files on public computers and when you finish then do not forget to copy to a floppy disk, CD or Pen drive and destroy the files in the computer. This will prevent any misuse by the other users.
- Be cautions when using your credit cards online. Check the Website SSL certificate and the lock image in the bottom of the screen. Also check the URL starts with https
- When you finish browsing on public computers, delete all the temporary Internet files, Cookies by selecting Tools menu and select Internet Options.
- Better restart the computer when you’re done, this will ensure to erase if anything exists.
